One of my favorite wedding gown designers, Vera Wang, has once again spread her wings by introducing a bridal jewelry collection through Kohl's called Simply Vera Vera Wang Bridal Jewelry Collection.  The collection is described as a "unique combination of classic styles and contemporary elements."  Ranging in price from $1,000 - $9,995, the collection consists of both engagement rings and wedding bands (and they're currently on sale!).

Trend Alert: First Look Wedding Photos

You know the old saying that it's bad luck for the wedding couple to see each other before the ceremony?  Let's just toss that out the window for a second, shall we?! We could go into a big debate as to whether or not there is any truth to it, but I'd much rather talk about a new trend that is on the rise: First Look Wedding Photos!

I love the idea of being able to capture the raw emotion when seeing the person you are going to spend the rest of your life with for the first time on your big day!  It is such a priceless moment, and probably the one that will stick out in your mind the most when you reflect on your wedding.

{Vendor Spotlight} Karen Tran Florals

Today, I wanted to take a moment to spotlight an amazingly talented, super creative floral & event design company that has been on my radar, for quite some time now, Karen Tran Florals!  I first stumbled upon Karen Tran's work while I was surfing on Pinterest (as I so often do!) and let me tell you, I was BLOWN AWAY! Her floral designs are beautiful, chic, and over-the-top...she is definitely a girl after my own heart!

Based in San Diego, CA, the company is all about "creating exquisite floral arrangements to enhance any kind of occasion."  It is no wonder that she has built a reputation as one of the country's leading event designers in her 20 years in the business!

I absolutely love her work!  Her floral sculptures are ah-mazing!  Karen Tran Florals is definitely a trendsetter and I hope to have the opportunity to work with her one day!

3 Cinco De Mayo Cocktails to Enjoy This Weekend!

Cinco De Mayo is this Saturday, and there is NO WAY you can celebrate without a good ol' cocktail! As usual, I've got you covered! Check out these 3 Cinco De Mayo Cocktails that YOU should enjoy this weekend:

Note: the first one is not exactly a cocktail, but it looks so yummy, and is perfect for the occassion!

1. Corona Beer Popsickles

Directions:

Open a bottle and pour it into any form, 

wait 2 hours for it to solidify slightly and insert a  popsicle stick 

and freeze for another 2 hours or until becomes solid.

2. Cuervo Tradicional El Diablo

Source

Ingredients:

1 1/2 ounce(s) Jose Cuervo Tradicional

1 ounce(s) cranberry juice

1 ounce(s) fresh squeezed lime juice

1/2 ounce(s) simple syrup

1  splash ginger ale

1 wedge(s) lime

Directions:

1. Mix all ingredients in a highball or rocks glass.

2. Top of with ginger ale.

3. Garnish with a lime wedge.

3. Black Mamba Margarita

Ingredients:

0.75 oz. Hennessy Black
0. 75 oz. Tequila (We used Hornitos Resposado Tequila)
0.75 oz. Triple Sec
3 oz. Fresh sour
1 Lime wedge

Directions:

1. Add all ingredients in a cocktail shaker and shake. 

2. Pour in a glass filled with ice. 

3. Add a lime wedge for garnish.

{Trend Alert} A Touch of Neon

There is a new trend on the horizon: adding Neon touches to wedding/party decor.  As with a lot of trends in  wedding world, this one has trickled down from the fashion scene, where Neon has been popping on up on runways lately.

The key to successfully using neon colors for your wedding/event is to use it sparingly.  Subtle touches here and there can make a big impact, where as going into neon overload can come across a little cheesy, or even tacky.
