{Color Crush} Pink + Orange

This week's color crush is Orange + Pink!

This bright, fun, and playful color combination is perfect for a spring or summer wedding/event.

Whether you decide to go with the softer tones (light pink and orange) or the bolder hues (hot pink/tangerine), the colors will still work beautifully together.

PTE Wants to Know: What do you think of the Pink + Orange color scheme? Is this a color combination you would consider for your wedding?

Baby Got Back!

I know you're probably wondering what the heck a 90's rap song title has to do with wedding planning, but trust me, it's so fitting for this post!

We're talking about wedding dresses with stunning back details!

The dress is probably one of the most anticipated aspects of any wedding, so why not give the people what they want!  Instead of only focusing on the front of your dress, think about what it would be like to have a beautiful 360 degree view, with a beautiful front and back.

Lace...cutouts...intricate bead work, etc.  These are all things that make for an interesting wedding dress back design.

Take a look at a few of these amazing back designs (psst, they're pretty sexy too!)

PTE Wants to Know:  Do you think how the back of a wedding dress looks is as important as the front?  What is the first thing that catches your eye about a wedding dress (style, fabric, intricate details, etc).

How to NAIL IT on Your Wedding Day!

Trying to decide what to do with your nails on the big day? Wanna do something a little different than the traditional french tips?

Maybe lace nails is the answer!  Lace nail art is a really popular trend, and can be achieved in one of two ways:

1. Apply pieces of lace on top of your nail polish...

2. Lace-patterned nail polish design

I, personally, am a big fan of the actual lace pieces being applied to the top coat of your nail polish.  It adds an extra bit of sass and edge!

PTE Wants to Know: What do you think of Lace Nail designs? Would you prefer the actual lace or the lace design?  Please leave a comment below.

{Entertaining} Build Your Own Mimosa Bar

Mother's Day is just around the corner, and i'm thinking of hosting a Mother's Day Brunch for the fabulous women in my life (mother, grandmother, aunts, friends, etc).

As I started brainstorming, the first thing that popped into my head was MIMOSAS!!!

I wanted to take it a little further than simply serving mimosas, so I figured a Build-Your-Own Mimosa Bar would be even better!

After doing a little searching, I found some really great ideas to get my creative juices flowing:

If you would like to make your own Do-It-Yourself Mimosa Bar, here is what you'll need:
  • Champagne & Sparkling Cider
  • Fruit Juice (Orange, Pink Lemonade, Grapefruit, etc).
  • Sliced fruit (for mixing)
  • Ice
  • Ice Bucket
  • Champagne glasses
  • Labels
A mimosa bar is sure to be the hit of the brunch!

PTE Wants to Know: Do you have a special mimosa recipe?  What other cocktails could be served at a Do-It-Yourself bar?

Wedding Dress-Inspired Cakes

Fashion is often a huge inspiration when it comes to the look and feel of a wedding.  Trends such as ombre and color-blocking are a couple of the most recent trends that have trickled down to the wedding world.  Another way brides are incorporating elements of fashion into their wedding is by choosing a cake inspired by their wedding dress!

Take a look at these cakes that were designed based around the fabric/patterns of the bride's gown:

If you're undecided about what you want your wedding cake to look like, maybe you will consider turning to your wedding dress for inspiration.

PTE wants to know: What do you think of cakes designed to match your wedding dress?  Would you consider it, or would you want the cake to have a completely different design? Please leave a comment below.

{Trend Alert} Round Ceremony Seating

There is a new trend on the rise: Round ceremony seating arrangement!

By arranging seating in a circular pattern, it allows all of your guests to have a prime view as you exchange your vowels.  Although this type of seating could work at in indoor venue, it is more ideal if you are having an outdoor ceremony.

I love this fresh, and unique spin on traditional ceremony seating, which is usually seats aligned in straight rows.

PTE wants to know: Would you consider a round ceremony seating arrangement?  Have you ever been to a wedding with this type of set-up? Please leave a comment below.

Convertible Wedding Dresses

Have you ever thought about rocking a short dress for your ceremony, but reconsidered because it wasn't traditional? Or thought about wearing a long gown for the ceremony, then changing into a shorter, more comfortable dress for the reception?

Then a convertible wedding dress may be just the thing you need!

So just what is a convertible wedding dress, you may ask?  To put it simply, it is a long gown that can be transformed into a shorter-length cocktail dress (usually with a cleverly placed zipper hiding beneath one of the dress' layers)!

So if you can't imagine yourself walking down the aisle in a short style, and if a second dress doesn't fit into your budget, a convertible wedding dress is a great alternative.

PTE Wants to Know: Would you purchase a convertible wedding gown, or would you prefer to buy two separate dresses? Please leave a comment below.

{Color Crush} Shades of Purple

This week's color crush is on shades of purple.

Purple, which just happens to be my favorite color, is so rich and vibrant that it gives off a feeling of regal sophistication.

The most eye-catching way to use purple in your wedding decor is to group together several shades, such as lavender, plum, and lilac, to create a bold, dramatic statement.

What do you think of mixing several shades of purple into your wedding decor? Does it look better than just using a single shade? Please leave a comment below.

{Project Reveal} Platinum Touch Events Promo Video!!!

Happy Monday! I hope you all enjoyed your Easter weekend!  I am still recovering after 3 days of being on the go nonstop, but i'm not complaining because most of my time was spent enjoying friends and family!

One of the highlights of my weekend was receiving this little baby in my inbox:

I think I squealed with excitement and did a little happy dance when I saw it! Mario, over at Digilogo Multimedia Group, did a wonderful job at capturing the essence of Platinum Touch Events and showcasing it in this :35 spot. The process was very smooth and I was so pleased with the turnaround time.   After speaking with Mario to explain what Platinum Touch Events was all about, I sent over images of events we've coordinated and information on the company and voila! He worked his magic and created this fabulous video that I could not be more happy with.

We will be starting a YouTube channel soon, so you'll be able to find this video, as well as several other videos with tips, tutorials, and much more in the upcoming months.

If you are interested in creating a commercial/video, or are in need of other multimedia services for your business, don't hesitate to reach out to Mario and the DMG team by calling (805) 340-6137.  They come highly recommended!
