{Color Crush} Coral + Aqua

Spring is quickly approaching, so we'll be seeing a lot of soft and bright colors in the next few months. One of my fave color combos right now is Coral + Aqua.  These colors compliment each other so beautifully and would be perfect for a Spring/Summer wedding or event.  The two colors can be incorporated into everything from the wedding attire and stationary to the flowers/decor.

Are you a fan of the Coral + Aqua color combo? What other color combos are your favorite right now?

{Trend Alert} White Bridesmaid Dresses

Ever since last year's Royal Wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton, we've seen a dramatic increase in the white bridesmaid dresses trend.

I have to admit, i'm still on the fence about this one.  I guess i'm just old school in thinking that the bride should stand out on her wedding day.  But I have to admit, the all-white attire DOES look good in photos:

How do you feel about bridesmaids wearing white?  Is this one tradition that should not be tampered with?

Please leave a comment.  I'd love to hear your thoughts!

{Inspiration} All-Black Everything

Last weekend, I met with a wonderful client who hired PTE to plan a yacht party to celebrate her 40th Birthday!  I was so ecstatic because this is the first time I've planned a party on a boat, and I KNOW it's going to be so fun!

This weekend I will be touring a few yachts for my client, and I wanted to start putting together a few ideas for the All-Black theme she requested.  Whenever I think of an All-Black or Black/White color combo, the words classic, chic, sophisticated, and timeless immediately come to mind. That is the look and feel that I hope to convey in the overall design of this event.

I've pulled together a few images that have gotten my creative juices flowing:

Dare to be Different: Unique Wedding Bouquets

I love it when couples dare to be different by incorporating unique elements into their big day!

More and more, we're starting to see brides think outside of the box when it comes to their bridal bouquets.

Check out these 6 alternatives to the traditional flower bouquet:

1. Fabric Flowers

2. Buttons and Brooches

3. Butterflies

4. Feathers

5. Paper Flowers

6. Fruit

Would you consider going against the traditional flower bouquet? What other types of unique wedding bouquets have you seen?

Mardi Gras Party Inspiration

Mardi Gras is tomorrow, so I thought I'd share a few tips and party inspiration for those that will be hosting a get-together for "Fat Tuesday".

The Decor
The official colors for Mardi Gras are purple, gold, and green.  Break out the feathers, masks, and beads to create a festive look.

The Menu
New Orleans is know for it's spicy, cajun cuisine.  Incorporate a few of these traditional menu dishes to make your guests feel at home...

The Dessert
A traditional Mardi Gras King Cake is a must!  Dont forget to place a gold coin or small baby jesus inside. (Whoever finds it in their slice is declared the king/queen for the day and has the task of hosting the next Mardi Gras party).

You can also get festive with decorative cookies, cupcakes, and cake.

The Drinks
The Hurricane cocktail is synonymous with New Orleans and perfect for the occasion! Find the recipe here.

For a non-alcoholic drink, mix up some Mardi Gras Madness Punch.  Find the recipe here.
